Every year, Freeman holds a canned food drive to support struggling families during the holidays.
The Junior Class won the Henrico Christmas Mother Food Drive competition with 1,484 cans.
The donations came in slow at first, but they really picked up this past week. The seniors came in second place with 917 cans, third came freshmen with 276, faculty came fourth with 156, and finally sophomores with 149.
The SCA changed the food drive this year to be a competition between grades rather than between first period classes. For winning the competition, the junior class will receive a fourth period pizza party planned by the SCA.
