Fall is finally in full swing and that only means one thing…let the festivities begin! Whether it be going to the pumpkin patch, apple picking, or a hike to see the foliage, there are an abundance of fun (and cheap) activities to fill your fall season with.
One struggle as a teen is finding activities that are enjoyable, for a low price. Many activities can be pricey, which ruins the fun, but I’m here to tell you about some cheaper alternatives. Firstly, there is Ashland Berry Farm. This fall carnival is full of activities for all ages. You can pick pumpkins in their patch perfect for aesthetic pictures, take a hayride, or eat a caramel apple while shopping in their general store.
Another fall activity, that costs nothing, is hiking. Virginia is riddled with scenic hikes, ranging from near to far away, that offer gorgeous views of the fall foliage. Spy Rock is roughly an hour away and leads to a 360 degree view of the Blue Ridge Mountains, which put on a full fall display of orange, red, yellow, and brown. Nearby, Crabtree Falls offers a scenic waterfall hike, ending at a scenic overlook of the Blue Ridge.
Finally, apple picking is the perfect cheap fall activity. Carter Mountain is a beautiful apple picking spot that has an abundance of delicious apples, as well as other apple treats, and perfectly encompasses the fall atmosphere.
These are three activities, all relatively cheap, that are essential to making your fall season festive. Go for a hike, pick some apples, and immerse yourself in the joyous atmosphere of the pumpkin patch to make your fall season splendid!
